The first hour test for this course is next week, on Thursday, February 9. It covers Sections 6.8, 6.9, 7.1, 7.2, 7.3, 7.4, 7.6 and the first half of 7.7.

Morning office hours on Tuesday and Thursday of this week are canceled due to substituting for another Professor for an 11:00 - 12:15 class. Afternoon office hours on Tuesday are changed to 1:30 - 3 pm, on Wednesday to 11:30 - 12:30 and 1:15 - 1:45 and on Thursday, to 1 - 3pm.

Section 7.7, numbers 7 and 9.

There is a quiz Wednesday on Section 7.2.

Homework to be handed in Thursday, Feb. 2:

    Week of February 6 - February 10

    The first hour test is on Thursday, February 9. There is no homework due that day although extra credit problems will be accepted. See note on extra credit below.

    There is no quiz Wednesday, so as to leave more time for review for hour test on Thursday.

    The quiz Wednesday is on section 8.2, integration by parts.

    Practice problems for Wednesday: Do the Trapezoidal and Simpson approximations for n = 4 for the integral, from 1 to 3, of 1/x dx. Also do quick check exercise number 4 in section 8.7.
    Section 10.1: Finish Quick Check exercises, and do numbers 1, 5, 9, 11, 23, and 29.
    Section 10.2: Quick check exercises, and numbers 1, 3, and 7.
