| Prerequisite: | Qualification through placement, or a grade of C or better in Math 112 or 115. |
| Text: | Calculus: Early Transcendentals by Anton, Bivens, and Davis, 7th ed. (we will cover chapters 1-6) |
| Maple Labs: | Each student is required to attend a computer lab each week. We will be using a computer algebra system called Maple. |
| Attendance: | You are expected to come to every class on time and stay until the end of class. |
| Cell phone policy: | Turn off during class. |
Work Load: There will be daily reading and homework (not turned in), 12 quizzes, 6 Maple lab assignments, 4 tests, and 1 cumulative final exam.
Grading:
| Quizzes: | 100 points | (10 best quiz scores worth 10 points each, based on the daily homework assignments) |
| Maple Lab: | 100 points | (10 points for attendance, 15 points for each of 3 Maple quizzes and 3 Maple projects) |

Note: No make-ups will be given for any quizzes, Maple lab assignments, or tests. However, your two lowest quiz scores will be dropped, and if your final exam score divided by 2 is greater than any other 100-point component of your total score, then this quantity will replace that component.

Math Lab Tutoring: Free tutoring is provided by the Math Lab. Its schedule is 11am-4pm MTWTh in LeConte 101, and 6-8pm MTWTh in the Bates and Tower area dorms.
