Prerequisite: Qualification through placement, or a grade of C or better in Math 112 or 115.
Text: Calculus by Varburg, Purcell, and Rigdon, 8th ed. (we will cover chapters 2-6)
Labs: Each student is required to attend the appropriate section's computer lab each week.

Work Load: There will be daily reading and homework, 9-12 quizzes, 12-14 lab assignments, 3 tests, and 1 cumulative final exam.

Grading: No make-ups will be given for any quizzes, labs assignments, or tests. Your two lowest quiz scores and your two lowest lab assignment scores will be dropped. No test scores will be dropped, and the final exam score will not be dropped. If your final exam score is higher than one of your test scores, then the final exam score will replace your lowest test score. This can only be done for one test. The final exam score itself cannot be replaced by any other score. The final exam will be cumulative.
 
Quizzes: 9% (these will be based on the daily homework assignments)
Lab Assignments: 15%

Test 2: 17% (Friday, Oct. 24)

Attendance: You are expected to come to every class on time and stay until the end of class.

Math Lab Tutoring: Free tutoring is provided by the Math Lab. Its schedule is 6-8pm MTWTh in the Bates and Tower area dorms. It will also be open in the afternoons in LeConte 101. These afternoon hours will be announced as soon as they are available.

Drop-in Sessions: Optional drop-in sessions in LeConte 102 allow students from math 141 sections 1-9 (i.e., the computer lab sections) to ask TA's about homework and quiz problems. The schedule is:
