| Aug 22 (Fri) | Read page xv from the preface as well as sections 1.1 and 1.2. In 1.1 do #2, 4, 7, 9, 14, 17. In 1.2 do #3, 7, 11, 12, 14, 15, 16. Get a graphing calculator by Monday. If you don't already own one, I suggest any of the TI-83 or TI-84 calculators. Register your real name with a valid email address at http://edugen.wiley.com/edugen/class/cls71652/ . If you need to take or retake the Algebra Placement Test, go to https://assess.math.sc.edu/ and select the third link Take Me To The Tests. You could also look at the first two links which include practice tests. | |

| Aug 25 (Mon) | There is no new homework but be sure to finish the homework from last time. Get a graphing calculator such as the recommended TI-83 or TI-84. I will start taking photos on Wednesday. | |
| Aug 27 (Wed) | Read section 1.3 and do #5, 9, 10, 11, 12, 20, 25, 26, 31 from that section. Bring your calculator to each class from now on. Today we discussed how to use the Y=, 2nd-TBLSET, and 2nd-TABLE features of your calculator in order to get a table of values for a function. | |
