| Aug 23 (Thu) | Read page xv from the preface as well as sections 1.1 and 1.2. In 1.1 do #2, 4, 7, 9, 14, 17. In 1.2 do #3, 7, 11, 12, 14, 15, 16. Get a graphing calculator by Tuesday of next week. If you don't already own one, I suggest any of the TI-83 or TI-84 calculators. | |

Bring a calculator from now on. Today we discussed how to use the Y=, 2nd-TBLSET, and 2nd-TABLE features of your calculator in order to get a table of values for a function. | |

Make a table of values on your calculator to double-check your work from section 1.5 and 1.6. You can get free help for this course at the Math Tutoring Center.
