Prerequisite: Qualification through placement, or a grade of C or better in Math 111 or 115.
Text: Applied Calculus (3rd edition) by Hughes-Hallett, Gleason, Lock, Flath, et al. The Student Solutions Manual and Student Study Guide are optional.
Calculator: A graphing calculator is required for this course. A TI-83 or TI-84 is highly recommended since my in-class instructions will be for these two calculators. You should always bring your calculator to class.

Attendance: You are expected to come to every class on time and stay until the end of class.

Work Load: There will be daily reading and homework. Homework is never turned in, but always discussed. There will be weekly quizzes (usually Mondays) for which I will give feedback, but quizzes do not count toward your course grade. You should expect to work at least 6-9 hours per week outside of class.

Test and Final Exam Dates: (no make-ups allowed)

Test 1: Friday, September 29
Test 2: Friday, October 27
Test 3: Friday, December 1
Cumulative Final Exam: Tuesday, December 12, 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM

Course Grade: The final exam and the three tests are each worth 100 points. I use the best three of your four 100-point scores to determine your course grade using the straight scale shown below.

A [270, 300]
B+ [261, 270)
B [240, 261)
C+ [231, 240)
C [210, 231)
D+ [201, 210)
D [180, 201)
F [0, 180)
