Feb 23-25: Mixotroph model, age structured discrete model

  • As you finish up the exam, take a look at hint.mws, and early next week we will post exam1.mws
  • Do the problems on worksheet #2 -- they are very easy, and fun, and good for you too
  • The exam will be, we hope, a learning experience. It's due on 25 February (or a bit later if you had trouble with Maple, but do try to get in in as soon as possible, and by March 2 at the very latest).
  • Note that we have pushed back the first project deadline, so you can procrastinate and then have a really miserable break, if that's your choice
  • There is a lot of material in Hastings on the sort of model we are getting into now; see section 2.2 (except for pages 33-37) and problem 2 on page 38. You'll find E-K's treatment in sections 1.1-1.3, 1.6 (especially page 21), 1.9-1.10, problems 19 and 20 at the end of the chapter.
