Feb 16-18: Systems (continued), predator-prey vs. competition models

  • You really need to step through the Maple worksheets chemostat.mws, SECRET.mws, matrix.mws eigen.mws, and localstab.mws to see what Maple can do for you, and to get a strong visual understanding of the concepts. The more of the questions on these sheets that you seriously attempt to answer, the better you will understand the material
  • Ask us about anything you don't understand (email and phone numbers are available on these pages!). The code you find in the worksheets will serve as your templates and guides for your own work in the projects, so you want to get comfortable with it
  • Do the problems on worksheet #2 -- they are very easy, and fun, and good for you too
  • The exam will be, we hope, a learning experience. It's due on 25 February. Note that we have pushed back the first project deadline, so some of you can clean it all up before the break, and some of you can procrastinate and then have a really miserable break, if that's your choice
