This worksheet is designed to provide some additional background about piecewise-defined functions and their use as forcing functions for differential equations. The example that is included in this worksheet is the RC circuit example that begins on p. 562 of the text. There are no Laplace transforms included in this worksheet - the primary intent is the understanding of piecewise-defined functions and the unit step function.
