Prerequisites: Qualification through placement or a grade of C or better in Math 111 or 115

Student learning outcomes: We will review exponential, logarithmic, and elementary algebraic functions at begnning. After the first test, students will learn the concepts of differentiation and integration in order to analyze the behaviors of above functions and obtain some information from these functions such as maxima, minima, rate of change, area under a curve, and volume. Furthermore, students will learn how to model and solve real world problems (economics, business, physics, and biology, etc.) by using mathematical tools.

Calculator: You need a graphing calculator. TI-83 or TI-84 is strongly recommended. A calculator with a computer algebra system, like TI-89, is NOT allowed.

Attendance: Attendance is expected. Bonus credits might be given to students who try hard to come to class. For example,  after a long break or on a bad weather day.

Homework policy: Homework will be assigned, but wonˇ¦t be collected. However, most problems in quizzes and tests will come from the homework problems.
