Textbook: College Algebra, Larson & Hostetler, Sixth Edition (ISBN 0-618-31385-0)

Goal of Course: The material to be covered includes chapters P, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6. Some sections in chapter 4 and 6 will be omitted. At the end of the semester, each student should be able to solve different types of both linear and quadratic equations as well as inequalities. Also each one will be able to sketch the graph of different types of functions and learn their properties. 

Grading policy:

l          Three midterms: 450 points (150 points each)

l          Class work: 50 points

l          Final Exam: 300 points

No make-up test(s) is allowed without a good excuse. Generally speaking, you have to inform me before the test day. For a class work, I will assign some problems from the textbook during last twenty minutes of class every Tuesday and Thursday. There will be some homework assignments but I won¡¦t collect and grade them.
