The seminar represents a collaborative effort of commutative algebraists at
Georgia State University and University of South Carolina to increase exposure
of their research area in the South-East through periodic meetings. Each term
GSU and USC organize a regional seminar and a national one. This Spring, GSU
will organize the national seminar. A regional meeting is held in Columbia in January. There
was a national meeting in Columbia, SC in November 2007, see the following webpage. For some of the

The
main speaker for this meeting is Professor Ian M. Aberbach from the University
of Missouri, Columbia. He will deliver a colloquium on Friday, April 25 at
Georgia State University and a research talk later in the meeting.

meeting will start on Friday afternoon with a colloquium by Ian M. Aberbach. The talks
are 50 minute long and will take place in 796 COE, Paul Erdos room, on the 7th floor of COE building. For information
