Hungary and Romania, 2003

In the summer of 2003, I had the privilege of accompanying the Christian Heritage College Chorale on a mission trip to Hungary and Romania. I am not in the chorale, but I went with them and assisted them with programs, set up, pictures, babysitting, and anything else that needed to be done. Two of my Hungarian mathematics professors also accompanied the chorale as translators while in Hungary and helpers while we were in Romania.

One of my favorite activities on the trip was visiting the gypsy village of Machiova in Romania. We played games with the kids for a while, then the chorale gave a concert. The conclusion to the evening was a concert for us by the children's choir of the village. They sang for us in Romanian, Gypsy, Hebrew, and English. What a treat!
