Math 142

Homework Solutions

I have found a web site where you can view homework solutions to odd numbered problems in our textbook for free. You will need to:

You might want to try a direct link of http://www.cramster.com/calculus-early-transcendentals-6th-solutions-410 . (Someone please let me know if this works - thanks.)

From what I see, you can get solutions to odd probelms for free but have to pay extra for even problems. I assign mostly odd problems anyway so just use the free service. If you do have troubles with an even numbered problem, you can stop by my office and look at the Instructor's Complete Solution Manual.

Such student help resources are new to me. One student emailed me:

By the way, I am loving cramster for homework help. It helps with the little things I am stuck on. I feel like there would be a lot less to go over during recitation if everyone else used it as well.
I assume most of you are working very hard in this class. Recall, rule of thumb: 4 hours of work outside of class for each credit unit. This is a 4 hour class so you should be doing about 4x4=16 hours of studying Math 142 a week (outside of class).

You young computer-aged students are so good with this kind of stuff that I'm sure you can figure it out - esp since I could! I used a slide ruler in high school!
