The University of South Carolina gives an annual statewide mathematics competition. The morning session consists of an individual written contest for which the first place winner is awarded a Full-Tuition Scholarship for four years at USC and the second place winner a Half-Tuition Scholarship (both have some conditions on them). More information, including old written contests and recent solutions to written contests, are located on our USC High School Math Contest page.
The following are contests which were used to help select
the teams in South Carolina for the annual
American Regions Mathematics League (ARML)
competition at Penn State. There were many other factors
that went into the selection process as well; see
this link
for more information on our statewide competitions. The particular
contests listed below were used for team competitions. Teams of 10 to 20
students each were asked to work on the problems for 20-30 minutes.
They were observed and their individual performances as team
members were noted.

Here are a few other links to contests and problems on the World Wide Web. The first one listed below is a particularly nice archive of contests including recent USA Mathematical Olympiads, International Mathematical Olympiads, William Lowell Putnam Mathematics Competitions, and a variety of links to international competitions.
