The South Carolina number theory community is pleased to announce Palmetto Number Theory Series (PANTS) IV to be held Saturday, December 8 and Sunday, December 9, 2007 at the University of South Carolina in Columbia, SC. The Palmetto Number Theory Series (PANTS) is a series of number theory meetings held at colleges and universities in South Carolina, the Palmetto State. The primary members of the PANTS group are * Clemson University, * College of Charleston, * Furman University, * University of South Carolina. The PANTS group plans to hold three meetings per year with one of the meetings slightly longer than the others. The plenary speakers for PANTS IV will be: Kathrin Bringmann University of Minnesota Dan Goldston San Jose State University Jeff Lagarias University of Michigan Tom Tucker University of Rochester. Registration is free for all participants; graduate students are encouraged to attend. We plan for the meeting to run from roughly noon Saturday to noon Sunday. In addition to the plenary talks, we welcome volunteers to give 20 minute talks. So far, PANTS meetings have been able to accomodate all speaking requests, but we cannot make any guarantees.
