Prove the existence of God? II (November 2006)

Are you content with accepting inexperienced opinion, NO!, of course not. So, why not accept or ponder my experienced opinion. Perhaps, you do but for some reason you are convinced that what you are doing produces more valuable repercussion. In fact, you are deceived, or no? Please listen to my experiences, I tell you not for my personal gain, but certainly because I desire to see you find the love and truth in Christ that I have encountered.

Do you exercise your mind in areas of no interest? Do you listen to the opinion of your peers? Moreover, do you care about the truth, or do you believe it is unattainable, for such a belief certainly does prohibit your ability to discover. Is it really a futile task? How I long for you to find this love. My heart is broken for you in a fashion analogous to the tears a parent sheds when they experience their child's graduation, final wrestling match after 13 years of participation, partakes in their wedding, or possess the capability to shamelessly embrace their child in a hug.

Please listen, Christ came and died for our sins. We need only open our heart and tell Him that we want to know Him. Do not hide behind your sin, for I too have fallen, fallen with you. So, please walk with me and let Him into your life. Notice that this does not mean your life is over, but on the contrary, it will just begin.

Love,
Dan

Prove the existence of God?

They were having an atheist convention. The president of the convention stood up and asked, "Is there anyone in the auditorium tonight who can prove to me that there is a God?" The auditorium became silent. In the back stood an old, dingy janitor wearing overalls and holding an orange. He slowly walked toward the president and stood on stage next to him. He began to peel his orange slice by slice. Then, he ate the orange piece by piece. He said to the president, "Mr. President, I will answer your question if you answer a question for me first. Tell me whether or not the orange I just ate was bitter or sweet?"

"Old man, how can I tell you that? I didn't eat the orange."

The janitor yelled "Well, how can I tell you whether or not there is a God, if you didn't try Him for yourself? The Bible says 'All taste and see that the Lord is good.'"

To conclude, I add my bit of information. I believe that proving and disproving the existence of God has been a futile task. One can merely observe the complexity of their detailed surroundings and consider either the chance of a Higher Power, God, creating all that is, or all came about by mere chance; the underlying assumption is a choice of belief. Nevertheless, one cannot argue with or deny personal experiences with the Lord's love. For in my personal life, I have experienced multiple encounters with the Lord after I told Him that He could have my life and I surrendered to Him. Notice that this type of selflessness (I am not boasting but humbly informing), surrendering to God, is what caused me to open my mind and heart to say that I needed, yearned, and gravely wished to know that He was real, that His love others talked about could be shared with me, and that I could know Him personally. Throughout my entire walk beginning in 1999, I have played the role of a cynic, continually analyzing and scrutinizing from the sides of the believer and the nonbeliever. Yet, I can fervently exclaim to you that these experiences and encounters took place, that I now see His love being shared with me in my prayer life, that I see my family becoming more loving, and my heart breaks for those that resist to feel and know this love.
