The 22nd High School Mathematics Contest at the University of South Carolina is scheduled for Saturday, December 8, 2007. All South Carolina high schools are cordially invited to participate. Our goal is to stimulate interest in mathematics among high school students and to recognize those who exhibit exceptional talent. At the conclusion of the contest, prizes will be awarded to outstanding individual participants and to winning teams.
Our tentative itinerary for December 8th will be as follows:
9:15 A.M. Registration --- lobby of the Close/Hipp building (a.k.a. the BA building) 10:30 A.M. Written Exam --- classrooms assigned on day of contest 11:00 A.M. Review of Exam for Teachers --- Room TBA 12:00 P.M. Lunch Break 1:15 P.M. Ciphering Contest --- Belk Auditorium 2:00 P.M. Mathematics Tournament --- Belk Auditorium 3:00 P.M. Awards Ceremony --- Belk Auditorium
