The 16th Annual High School Mathematics Contest at the University of South Carolina is scheduled for Saturday, January 19, 2002. All South Carolina high schools are cordially invited to participate. Our goal is to stimulate interest in mathematics among high school students and to recognize those who exhibit exceptional talent. At the conclusion of the contest, prizes will be awarded to outstanding individual participants and to winning teams. Prizes include a four-year full tuition scholarship, a four-year half-tuition scholarship, and a four-year quarter-tuition scholarship to attend USC.
Our itinerary for January 19th will be as follows:
9:15 A.M. Registration --- lobby of the Close/Hipp building 10:30 A.M. Written Exam --- classrooms assigned on day of contest 11:00 A.M. Review of Exam for Teachers --- Belk Auditorium 12:00 P.M. Lunch Break 1:15 P.M. Ciphering Contest --- Belk Auditorium 2:15 P.M. Mathematics Tournament --- Belk Auditorium 2:45 P.M. Awards Ceremony --- Belk Auditorium
