Event: Student Support Services Seminar
Date: Tuesday, April 29, 2008
Time: 2:30 PM
Location: LeConte 312

Description:

The Student Success Center and Office of Academic Integrity have missions to empower students to take full advantage of the educational opportunities at USC and to improve the academic learning environment at USC. Representatives from these offices will be on hand to provide an introduction to the services they provide and to answer any questions that we might have for them.

The Office of Academic Integrity can assist instructors on how to appropriately confront students, how to refer students, and even help you plan to prevent cheating! Information on the USC Honor Code and other helpful resources is available on the web at www.sc.edu/academicintegrity .

The Student Success Center (SSC), located in Thomas Cooper Library, provides a number of new services to help students. The purpose of the SSC is to coordinate an intentionally-designed, comprehensive array of programs, resources, and services that guide students to degree completion at USC through promoting academic goal-setting and skill development, personal transition to the university setting, and effective decision-making. Student Success Center programs include tutoring, Supplemental Instruction (SI), peer mentoring, the First Year Call Center, and the Creating Academic Responsibility (CAR) Initiative. The web address for the SSC is http://www.sa.sc.edu/ssc/ .
