Abstract:

Starting in 2001 with a budget of $0 and no students the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) built an undergraduate research program has included 35 presentations by students at national mathematics conferences. In addition, this program has garnered nearly a quarter of a million in external funds, including designation as an NSF - Research Experience for Undergraduate Site. This presentation will include strategies for getting undergraduate research started and funded.
